Move Up On Google – Episode #7

Image Attributes

Welcome back, small business owner. This is Adam and let’s get into it. We’re gonna talk about image alts and titles.

You might be asking yourself: “What is an image alt?” or “What is an image title?” The image alt is a text behind your image that tells Google what that image is all about. This would be a great place to have comma-separated keywords.

An image title, on the other hand, is text that’s going to be visible to the user if they hover over your image. This text could be in a full form of a sentence or a paragraph and you can include keywords, though Google doesn’t look at it as seriously as an alt tag.

Lastly, with your images, you can create captions. This will tell your users and Google another instance of what that image is all about. Keep in mind it’s very important to have keywords and/or keyword phrases in these spots on each image on your website.

That’s not all about images. We do have more to talk about in the next episode regarding more optimizations. Follow us on Instagram, like us on Facebook, subscribe to us on YouTube, and we’ll see you next time!
